We are thrilled to announce that our book, “Phil Hardberger Park: A Story in Photographs,” has arrived!
Phil Hardberger Park encompasses 330 acres in the heart of San Antonio. It is, at heart, a nature park, showcasing the natural history and beauty of the South Texas landscape.
In “Phil Hardberger Park: A Story in Photographs,” photos and essays beautifully chronicle the daily activities of the park, its history, and the magnificent flora and fauna that reside there. The Conservancy commissioned three photographers, Al Rendon, Steve Slate and Justin Moore, to capture the beauty and life of the park, as well as the construction of the Land Bridge. Several more photographers are park visitors who offered their beautiful photographs to be included in this collection.
Essays include an introduction by park founder Phil Hardberger, and perspectives from author John Phillip Santos, landscape architects Steve and Lauren Stimson, and Nature Preserve Officer Wendy Leonard.

Pop-Up Book Sales in the Park
Conservancy staff will be in the park at a different location every Saturday for the month of June from 9 a.m. to noon. Stop by to pick up your copy of “Phil Hardberger Park: A Story in Photographs.” You will be able to take your copy home that very day with a donation of $50. Cash, check, and all major credit cards are accepted.
