Join David Jimenez and Alamo Area Master Naturalists, from 9-11 am Friday, March 7 to explore the Phil Hardberger Park (NW Military Entrance).
We’ll begin by introducing the basics of the iNaturalist app used to identify and document plants, birds, insects and other critters. We will then walk along park trails for about a mile as we identify and document as many native species as we can! Easy to moderate hiking. Please download the iNaturalist app prior to your hike.
This nature walk is part of the preparation for the City Nature Challenge (CNC). From April 25 to April 28 Texas San Antonio Natural Areas, Phil Hardberger Park Conservancy, and Texas Parks Wildlife Department will participate in a fun challenge to see which city can document the most plant and animal species. It's easy to participate by simply making observations on your own using iNaturalist!
