Butterflies and Native Plants: Making Connections

Join us online via Zoom to hear Craig Hensley talk about butterflies and how to support these interesting insects.

San Antonio is home to more than 150 species of butterflies, all looking for a good meal and a place to lay their eggs. Through this presentation you’ll learn how you can become a butterfly landlord through planting those native plants upon which butterflies and other pollinators nectar on, as well as plants that serve as hosts for eggs and larvae. You’ll also meet several of the more common butterflies and discover their specific needs, as well as find out how you can help with butterfly conservation and understanding.

Craig Hensley is a long-time naturalist and educator, currently serving as one of two Texas Nature Trackers Biologists, working with Master Naturalists and other community scientists to help document flora and fauna of Texas.

This event will be presented live via Zoom. Registration is required to be sent the login information.
